Your Solar Company Is Gone — Your System Isn’t
Over the last several years a number of large national and regional solar installers have closed their doors, filed for bankruptcy, or pulled out of the Florida market. When an installer vanishes, Broward homeowners are left with a solar loan, equipment that may or may not be working, and nobody answering the phone when a red error light turns on.
Florida Solar Pro helps Broward homeowners move forward when the original installer is no longer available. We diagnose system problems, help restore available monitoring and manufacturer account access, document equipment issues, and submit eligible manufacturer claims where available. You gain an experienced local service team for a system nobody else will touch.
Manufacturer approval, parts availability, claim eligibility, reimbursement, and final claim decisions remain subject to the manufacturer’s program and terms.

Solar System Not Producing?
A drop in production has a cause, but the cause is not always obvious from the monitoring app. We troubleshoot production loss by inspecting the array and testing the electrical path rather than guessing.
- Complete Shutdown — usually points to an inverter that has stopped, a tripped breaker, a blown fuse, a disconnected optimizer string, or a ground fault. We test the AC and DC sides before naming the cause.
- Gradual Production Loss — can come from soiling, shading from new tree growth, one or more degraded modules, optimizer failures, or an aging inverter. We compare available monitoring history to the array condition.
- Sudden Drop — often follows a storm, a firmware update, a failed microinverter, a tripped string, or a damaged conductor. We inspect the array and electrical path rather than guessing from the app alone.
- App Says Zero — System May Still Run — sometimes the panels are still producing while the monitoring gateway has lost its connection. A physical diagnostic confirms which is happening.
We do not promise a specific cause before inspecting the system. After a real diagnostic we give you an honest explanation of what we found and what it will take to fix it.
Inverter & Microinverter Diagnostics
The inverter is where most PV failures actually show up. Florida Solar Pro diagnoses and services supported residential inverter and microinverter platforms throughout Broward County, including systems we did not originally install.
Supported equipment where applicable:
- Enphase microinverters & Envoy gateway
- SolarEdge string inverters & power optimizers
- SMA string inverters
- Fronius string inverters
- APsystems microinverters
- Tesla / Generac (Pika) supported equipment where applicable
- Other supported residential equipment where applicable
We do not claim warranty coverage on any equipment without verifying registration status, serial number, ownership, and current manufacturer terms. Warranty approval is determined by the manufacturer and is not guaranteed.
Monitoring Problems
Lost monitoring is one of the most common Broward PV service calls. When your app stops updating, production visibility disappears and a small problem can run for months before anyone notices. We restore communication and confirm whether the system is actually still producing.
Common monitoring causes we investigate:
- Lost Wi-Fi or cellular gateway connection
- Failed or offline Envoy / communication gateway
- Inverter communication board failure
- Router or network changes at the home
- Firmware or platform account issues
- A real production loss that the monitoring is correctly reporting
The first step is always the same: confirm whether the array is still producing. There is no point chasing a gateway connection if the real problem is a shutdown.
Enphase System Service
Enphase microinverter systems place a small inverter under each module, so production is tracked panel by panel. That architecture is powerful, but it also means a single failed microinverter, a dropped Envoy gateway, or a communication issue can hide production loss across one module or the whole array.
Florida Solar Pro diagnoses and services supported Enphase systems in Broward County. We read the Envoy and monitoring platform to identify which microinverters are reporting, which are not, and whether the problem is the unit, the wiring, the communication path, or the gateway itself. Where a microinverter has failed, we evaluate replacement and, where applicable, assist with the manufacturer process.
Enphase warranty coverage depends on registration status, serial number, installation date, and current manufacturer terms. We verify eligibility before claiming coverage, and approval is not guaranteed.
SolarEdge System Service
SolarEdge systems use a central string inverter paired with power optimizers mounted behind each module. When an optimizer fails, a string drops, or the inverter throws a fault code, production can fall sharply even though most of the array is still healthy.
Florida Solar Pro troubleshoots supported SolarEdge systems in Broward County by reading inverter fault codes, checking optimizer status through the monitoring platform, and testing the DC string path. We identify whether the failure is the inverter, a single optimizer, a string-level issue, or a communication problem, and recommend repair or replacement based on what we actually find.
SolarEdge warranty coverage depends on registration status, serial number, installation date, and current manufacturer terms. We verify eligibility before claiming coverage, and approval is not guaranteed.
Failed Inverter Evaluation
A failed inverter does not always mean the whole system is finished. The evaluation starts with confirming the inverter is actually the problem and not a downstream breaker, a wiring fault, or a communication issue masquerading as a dead unit.
Once a true inverter failure is confirmed, we lay out the realistic paths: a manufacturer replacement where the unit is eligible, a like-for-like swap where a direct replacement is available, or a modern compatible replacement where the original model is discontinued. We document the serial number and failure so the manufacturer process can move forward where applicable.
No replacement work proceeds without your approval. We explain the options, the costs, and the warranty picture before any equipment is ordered.
Microinverter Problems
In a microinverter system each module has its own unit, so one failed microinverter usually takes out a single panel’s production while the rest of the array keeps running. That is good news for total output, but it also means a small failure can sit unnoticed for months because the overall number still looks reasonable.
We use the monitoring platform to identify which microinverter has stopped reporting, then confirm the failure on the roof with electrical testing. Depending on the unit and its condition, a single failed microinverter can frequently be replaced without disturbing the surrounding modules. Where the unit is under a valid manufacturer warranty, we assist with the replacement process.
We do not assume a microinverter is failed from the app alone. A reporting gap can also be a communication or wiring issue, so we confirm the cause before recommending replacement.
PV Removal & Reinstallation for Reroofing
When your Broward home needs a new roof, the PV array has to come off before the roofers can work and go back up afterward. Most roofing contractors do not remove or reinstall solar equipment, and the original installer may be unavailable.
Florida Solar Pro handles the solar side: system shutdown, documentation, removal, solar-permit coordination where required, reinstallation with roof-appropriate flashings, electrical testing, and recommissioning. We coordinate directly with your roofing contractor so each company stays responsible for its licensed scope.
Existing rails, attachments, and hardware may be reused only when they are compatible, serviceable, and safe. Failed or unsuitable components may require separately authorized replacement.
Solar System Inspections
A PV inspection gives you a documented picture of how the system is actually doing today, not what the original sales proposal promised. We inspect the array, mounting hardware, electrical panels, inverter, and monitoring, and record equipment identification and serial numbers where accessible.
An inspection is especially useful before a reroof, before a home sale, after a storm, or when you have taken over a system from an installer that is no longer available. We document the condition, note any failures or safety concerns, and explain the available next steps in plain language.

Battery & Storage Upgrade Evaluation
Many Broward homeowners want to add backup or storage to an existing PV system, especially after a storm season. A battery upgrade is often possible, but it depends on inverter compatibility, available capacity, the existing electrical configuration, and your backup goals. Florida Solar Pro evaluates whether your current system can support storage, what changes would be required, and which options fit your goals without pushing a one-size-fits-all sale. Learn more on our battery backup and energy storage page.
Existing Systems Installed by Other Contractors
A large share of our Broward PV work involves systems installed by contractors that have since closed, left the market, or are otherwise unavailable. Florida Solar Pro can inspect, diagnose, and service these systems even when the original installer cannot be reached. Florida Solar Pro does not automatically assume or inherit another contractor’s workmanship or installation warranty. We evaluate your system as it exists today and provide honest repair and service options.
Manufacturer Assistance
The installer may be gone, but the equipment manufacturer often is not. Florida Solar Pro maintains current manufacturer accounts and active service credentials for supported residential brands and can submit eligible manufacturer claims where available.
- Manufacturer / Factory Warranty — coverage provided by the equipment manufacturer for qualifying defects in the inverter, microinverter, optimizer, or module, subject to the manufacturer’s warranty terms, registration status, and approval.
- Installer / Workmanship Warranty — coverage for the original installation labor and workmanship, typically provided by the installing contractor. This is separate from the manufacturer warranty and is not transferred to Florida Solar Pro.
Manufacturer warranty coverage is separate from any workmanship or installation warranty originally provided by another contractor. Warranty approval is determined by the manufacturer and is not guaranteed.

Broward PV Solar Repair & Solar Rescue FAQ
Who repairs solar panels when the installer is out of business?
Florida Solar Pro services existing PV solar systems throughout Broward County even when the original installer has closed, left the market, or is unreachable. We inspect the system as it exists today, diagnose the failure, and provide repair options. We do not automatically assume or inherit another contractor’s workmanship or installation warranty.
Why did my solar production suddenly drop?
A sudden production drop can come from a failed microinverter, a tripped string, storm damage, a ground fault, a firmware change, or a tripped breaker. We compare available monitoring history against a physical inspection of the array and electrical path rather than guessing the cause from the app alone.
Can Florida Solar Pro troubleshoot Enphase?
Yes. We diagnose and service supported Enphase microinverter systems in Broward County, including individual microinverter evaluation, Envoy gateway communication problems, and production restoration. Enphase warranty coverage depends on registration status, serial number, and current manufacturer terms, and is not guaranteed.
Can Florida Solar Pro troubleshoot SolarEdge?
Yes. We diagnose and service supported SolarEdge string inverter and power optimizer systems in Broward County, including optimizer failures, inverter faults, and communication issues. SolarEdge warranty coverage depends on registration status, serial number, and current manufacturer terms, and is not guaranteed.
Can one failed microinverter be diagnosed?
Yes. In a microinverter system each module has its own unit, so a single failed microinverter can often be identified through the monitoring platform and confirmed on the roof. Depending on the system and the unit’s condition, the failed microinverter can frequently be replaced without disturbing the rest of the array.
Why did my solar monitoring stop working?
Monitoring can stop because of a lost Wi-Fi or cellular connection, a failed communication gateway, a router change at the home, an inverter communication issue, or a real production loss the monitoring is correctly reporting. We confirm whether the system is still producing before chasing the communication problem.
Can PV panels be removed for reroofing?
Yes. Florida Solar Pro removes rooftop PV arrays so your roofer can work safely, then reinstalls suitable components afterward. Existing equipment is inspected after removal, and failed or unsuitable components may require separately authorized replacement.
Can an older PV system be upgraded instead of replaced?
Often yes. Depending on the condition of the modules, racking, and wiring, an older system may be improved by replacing a failed inverter, upgrading monitoring, swapping failed microinverters, or modernizing controls rather than replacing the entire array. We evaluate what can remain and what should be replaced before recommending a path.
Can batteries be added to an existing solar system?
In many cases yes. A battery or storage upgrade can be evaluated for an existing PV system, depending on inverter compatibility, available capacity, electrical configuration, and your backup goals. We assess whether the existing system can support storage and what changes would be required before recommending an upgrade.
Does Florida Solar Pro take over another installer’s workmanship warranty?
No. Manufacturer warranty coverage is separate from any workmanship or installation warranty originally provided by another contractor. Florida Solar Pro does not automatically assume or inherit another contractor’s installer workmanship warranty. We evaluate your system as it exists today and provide honest repair and service options.
