How Solar Monitoring & Takeover Works
Step 1 — Choose Monitoring & Takeover
Start with one compatible PV system. Review the annual plan fee and any applicable onboarding charges.
Step 2 — Enter Your System Details
Give us your contact information, service address and inverter manufacturer. A site ID or gateway serial helps, but it’s optional.
Step 3 — Authorize Access
Review the agreement, accept electronically and approve our service access through the manufacturer’s process.
Step 4 — We Confirm Your Connection
We verify access and current reporting. We’ll confirm when your system is actively reporting.
We never ask for your manufacturer password. You approve access through the manufacturer’s own app or form.
The 360-day monitoring term starts after verified activation, not when the request or payment is submitted.

On successful verified submission, the confirmation reads: “Your request has been received. We’ll confirm when manufacturer access is approved and your system is actively reporting.” Submitting the form does not activate monitoring or mark a system active. Status moves from Requested to Authorization pending to Connected to Active; Active is set only after manufacturer authorization and confirmed live reporting.

Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about Solar Monitoring & Takeover, repairs, refunds and renewal.
Is this continuous, around-the-clock monitoring?
No. We review available manufacturer data at least monthly and respond to material faults during business hours. Monitoring depends on manufacturer access, working communications and a compatible system. It doesn’t promise detection of every problem.
Does Monitoring & Takeover include repairs?
No. The plan provides remote review, priority scheduling, manufacturer warranty claim assistance and 5% off eligible repairs. On-site inspections, diagnostics, repair labor and parts are charged separately.
What happens if my system can’t be connected?
We’ll explain the connection problem and may offer a separate $199 assessment. If we can’t confirm manufacturer access and active reporting within 30 days, you can receive a full refund of the monitoring plan and onboarding fees, or agree in writing to an extension. A monitoring term never starts without verified activation.
Can you help if my original solar installer closed?
Yes. Where the manufacturer permits it, we can request service and monitoring access for your existing equipment. We can assist with eligible manufacturer warranty claims. We don’t assume or extend another installer’s workmanship obligations.
Does Monitoring & Takeover renew automatically?
Paid monitoring terms run 360 days, beginning when manufacturer access and reporting are confirmed. The plan renews automatically unless cancelled on or before day 330. Renewal increases are limited to 10% over the prior term, and cancellation is available through the same method used to enroll.
What if I have two inverter systems on one roof?
A second PV inverter platform requires a separate monitoring setup. The proposed Basic add-on is $99 per 360-day term, billed annually, for the second platform at the same address. The 40-panel allowance applies across both platforms. Additional-platform charges must be approved and shown before enrollment.
Monitoring Plan Terms
