Already Have a Heliocol System?
Florida Solar Pro services existing Heliocol solar pool heating systems throughout our authorized Florida territory, including systems originally installed by other contractors. Whether your Heliocol array is leaking, not heating, or simply due for a checkup, our licensed team can diagnose and repair it. Our existing Heliocol service includes diagnostics, leak repair, collector replacement, controls, plumbing, valves, actuators, sensors, flow problems, reroof removal and reinstallation, and manufacturer warranty assistance.
Florida Solar Pro does not automatically assume or inherit another contractor’s workmanship or installation warranty. We evaluate your Heliocol system as it exists today and provide honest repair and service options.
Common Heliocol Solar Pool Heating Repairs
These are the Heliocol service issues Florida Solar Pro diagnoses and repairs most often. Collector leaks are the most common Heliocol service call; water may drip from the panel surface, run down the roof, or appear at the pool return. We pressurize the array, identify whether the leak is in a tube, header, or panel connection, and recommend repair or replacement based on the condition of the surrounding collectors.
Other common repairs include individual tube leaks, header leaks, collector-to-collector connection leaks, failed or damaged collectors, Heliocol collector replacement, vacuum relief valve problems, solar valve problems, actuator failure, controller problems, temperature sensor problems, low flow, air entering the pool, pool not heating, roof plumbing leaks, and storm damage. We do not promise that every damaged collector can be repaired. See our Solar Pool Heater Not Heating? troubleshooting guide.
Can a Heliocol Panel Be Repaired?
Some localized Heliocol conditions may be repairable, while cracked headers, extensive age-related deterioration, severe storm damage, or other failures may make collector replacement the better long-term option. Before recommending repair or replacement, Florida Solar Pro evaluates the age of the collectors, leak location, collector condition, condition of surrounding panels, connections and fittings, rooftop plumbing, and overall system condition. We do not promise that every damaged Heliocol collector can be repaired.
New Heliocol Solar Pool Heating Systems
A properly designed Heliocol system starts with a real evaluation of your pool, your roof, and your goals. Our installation process:
- Pool evaluation
- Roof evaluation
- Shade and orientation review
- Collector sizing
- Existing pool equipment review
- Plumbing and controls planning
- Installation
- Flow testing
- System startup
- Homeowner orientation
Florida roof applications include asphalt shingle, tile, standing seam metal, and other suitable roofs depending on site conditions. Installation options depend on your specific roof conditions.
Original Heliocol Installer No Longer Available?
Many Heliocol systems in Florida were installed by companies that have since closed, left the market, or are otherwise unavailable. Florida Solar Pro can inspect and service existing Heliocol systems even when the original installing contractor can no longer be reached. Florida Solar Pro does not automatically assume or inherit another contractor’s workmanship or installation warranty. We evaluate your Heliocol system as it exists today and provide honest repair and service options.
Heliocol Manufacturer Warranty Assistance
Florida Solar Pro provides authorized assistance with applicable Heliocol manufacturer/factory warranty matters within our authorized service territory. Manufacturer warranty coverage is provided by Heliocol for qualifying defects in the collector or factory components, subject to the manufacturer’s warranty terms and approval. Installer or workmanship warranty coverage is for the original installation labor and workmanship, typically provided by the installing contractor, and is separate from the manufacturer warranty.
Florida Solar Pro may inspect the system, document equipment condition, identify potential manufacturer warranty issues, assist with applicable manufacturer procedures, and perform authorized service where appropriate. Warranty approval is determined by the manufacturer and is not guaranteed.
Heliocol Removal & Reinstallation for Reroofing
When your home needs a new roof, Florida Solar Pro can remove your Heliocol solar pool heating system so your roofer can work safely, then reinstall it once the roofing work is complete. Our general reroof process:
- Inspect the existing Heliocol system
- Remove rooftop collectors
- Document system condition
- Coordinate around roofing work
- Reinstall suitable existing components
- Replace failed components only with authorization
- Test system operation after reinstall
We do not guarantee that every old Heliocol collector can be reused.
Heliocol + Gulfstream Hybrid Pool Heating
Homeowners may combine Heliocol solar pool heating with a Gulfstream heat pump for supplemental heating or more consistent temperature control. Solar handles the bulk of the heating on sunny days, while the heat pump can extend swimming into cooler or cloudier periods. Not every pool needs both systems. We evaluate your pool, usage, and goals before recommending a combined Heliocol + Gulfstream setup. See our Gulfstream Pool Heat Pump Installation & Service page and our Pool Automation Installation & Upgrades page.

Heliocol Frequently Asked Questions
Who repairs Heliocol solar pool panels?
Florida Solar Pro is an authorized Heliocol dealer and service provider and repairs Heliocol solar pool heating systems throughout our authorized Florida territory, including systems installed by other contractors.
Does Florida Solar Pro repair Heliocol systems installed by another company?
Yes. We inspect, diagnose, and repair existing Heliocol systems even when the original installer is no longer available. We do not automatically assume or inherit another contractor’s workmanship or installation warranty.
Can a leaking Heliocol panel be repaired?
Often yes, depending on where the leak is. Tube, header, and connection leaks can frequently be repaired, while a badly degraded or split collector may need replacement. We inspect the collector under pressure before recommending repair or replacement, and we do not promise that every damaged collector can be repaired.
Can an individual Heliocol collector be replaced?
Yes. In many Heliocol systems a single damaged or leaking collector can be replaced without replacing the entire array, depending on the system design and the condition of the surrounding components.
Why is my Heliocol solar pool heater leaking?
Common causes include cracked individual tubes, split headers, failed collector-to-collector connections, aged grommets or clamps, rooftop plumbing leaks, or storm damage. We pressurize the system and isolate the exact source before recommending a repair.
Why is air entering my pool when solar turns on?
Bubbles in the return usually point to a suction-side air leak, a failing vacuum relief valve, or an air lock in the Heliocol collector loop. We inspect the suction plumbing, valve operation, and relief valve to locate the source and stop air from entering the system.
Why isn’t my Heliocol system heating the pool?
Common causes include a controller that never calls for heat, a solar valve stuck on pool return, reversed flow, low flow from a clogged filter or weak pump, insufficient collector area, or heavy shade. We verify sensor readings, valve actuation, flow direction, and circulation before recommending a fix.
Can Heliocol panels be removed for a new roof?
Yes. Florida Solar Pro can remove Heliocol solar pool heating collectors and associated rooftop components when reroofing is required so your roofer can work safely.
Can existing Heliocol collectors be reinstalled after reroofing?
Often yes, but not always. Existing components are inspected after removal, and failed, damaged, or unsuitable equipment may require separately authorized replacement. We do not guarantee that every existing collector can be reused.
What happens if my original Heliocol installer went out of business?
Florida Solar Pro can inspect, diagnose, and repair your existing Heliocol system and assist with applicable manufacturer warranty procedures. We do not automatically assume or inherit another contractor’s installer workmanship warranty.
Does Florida Solar Pro provide Heliocol manufacturer warranty assistance?
Yes. Within our authorized service territory we provide authorized assistance with applicable Heliocol manufacturer/factory warranty matters, including inspection, documentation, and authorized service where appropriate. Warranty approval is determined by the manufacturer and is not guaranteed.
Is the Heliocol manufacturer warranty the same as an installer workmanship warranty?
No. Manufacturer warranty coverage is separate from any workmanship or installation warranty originally provided by another contractor. Florida Solar Pro does not automatically assume or inherit another contractor’s installer warranty.
Can Heliocol be combined with a Gulfstream heat pump?
Yes. Some homeowners use Heliocol solar pool heating as the primary heat source and a Gulfstream heat pump as supplemental heating when sunlight is limited, faster recovery is desired, or more consistent temperature control is needed. This combination is not right for every pool, so we evaluate your usage and goals before recommending it.
